Crestor is in the group of drugs known as HMG CoA reductase inhibitors or statins that reduces levels of triglycerides in blood and bad cholesterol (low density lipoprotein or LDL), while increasing levels of good cholesterol (HDL or high density lipoprotein). It is used for lowering triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood and also for lowering the risk of heart attack, stroke and other heart complications in patients with coronary heart disease, diabetes and other risk factors. Also known as Rosuvastatin (sold as Crestor by AstraZeneca), it’s a member of drug segment of statins used in combination with diet, weight loss and exercise for curing high cholesterol and related situations and for preventing cardiovascular disease. Doses of Crestor
  • You can take Crestor as recommended by your doctor; however not in smaller or larger amounts.
  • It can be taken with or without food.
  • You might need to stop using this medicine for short time, if you have uncontrolled seizures, severely low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalance, severe illness or infection, medical emergency or surgery or dehydration.
  • Store Crestor tablets at room temperature away from heat, light and moisture.
