DDAVP is a synthetic analogue of vasopressin, which has been used to treat von Willebrand infections and other bleeding disorders. It belongs to the class of drugs known as antidiuretics and is hormone orally administered to control bedwetting or excessive urination during the night. DDAVP is also used to treat central diabetes insipidus, a condition where kidneys aren’t able to preserve water due to lack of antidiuretic hormone. This condition causes frequent urination and thirst and the medication works by acting on kidneys to reduce urine amount. It usually starts to work within an hour and lasts for around 7 to 9 hours. You should not use this medicine, if you are allergic to it or ever had hyponatremia; have severe kidney infection, cystic fibrosis, coronary artery disease, low or high blood pressure, electrolyte imbalance or congestive heart failure.
Doses of DDAVP
