Lamisil or Terbinafine is an antifungal antibiotic medicine that’s used for curing infections caused by fungus affecting toenails and fingernails. Oral granules of Lamisil are used for treating fungal infections of scalp hair follicles in kids less than four years. Lamisil is also known as Terbinafine hydrochloride and is a synthetic allylamine antifungal medicine produced by Novartis. It is decidedly lipophilic in nature and tends to accumulate in nails, skin, bacterias of duodenum, viral infections of stomach and fatty tissues. Lamisil is a white fine crystalline powder, which is freely soluble in dichloromethane and methanol, little soluble in water and soluble in ethanol.
Doses of Lamisil :
  • You can take Lamisil as recommended by your doctor.
  • Take Terbinafine tablet with glass full of water.
  • Its granules should be sprinkled in spoonful of mashed potatoes or pudding.
  • The granule mixture of Lamisil should be taken with meal.
  • Take the missed dose as soon as you remember and skip the missed one, if it’s almost time for the next one.
  • Seek medical attention in case of overdose; symptoms include urinating more than usual, dizziness, skin rash, stomach pain, nausea and vomiting.
  • Store Lamisil tablets at room temperature away from light, moisture and heat.
