Luvox is an antidepressant in the group of medicines known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors that affects chemicals in the brain, which might become unbalanced and cause obsessive compulsive symptoms. It is used for curing social anxiety disorder or social phobia and obsessive compulsive disorders involving recurring actions or thoughts. Also known as Fluvoxamine, Luvox is an antidepressant that functions as SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) and is used for curing obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders like panic disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and major depressive disorder (MDD). Fluvoxamine Controlled Release (CR) is approved for curing social anxiety disorder.
Doses of Luvox :
  • Luvox can be taken as recommended by your doctor; however not in smaller or larger amounts and not for longer than prescribed.
  • Don’t chew, open or crush the extended release capsule; swallow it whole.
  • You might take Luvox with or without food.
  • Missed dose can be taken as soon as it is possible; don’t take additional dose to make the missed one.
  • Get medical help in case of overdose; symptoms include coma, blurred vision, fainting, lack of coordination, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, fast heart rate, vomiting and nausea.
  • Store this medicine at room temperature away from heat and moisture and keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
