YOU ARE ON Home Products Ovral-L

Product Details
Generic Name: ethinyl estradiol and Norgestrel
Brand Name: Ovral-L/Ovral-21/Ovral-28
Lo/Ovral-28 contains a combination of norgestrel and ethinyl estradiol that are female hormones which prevent the release of egg from ovary (ovulation). It also causes changes in your uterine lining and cervical mucus, making it harder for fertilized egg to attach to uterus and harder for sperm to reach the uterus. Lo/Ovral-28 is used as contraception for preventing pregnancy. Using tobacco or smoking cigarettes while using hormonal birth control (patch/pill/ring) increases your risk of stroke and heart problems. So, don’t smoke. The risk of heart problems increases with frequent smoking (15 or more cigarettes a day) and with age (particularly in women over 35).
