Product Details
Generic Name: Fenofibrate
Brand Name: Lipofen, Triglide and TriCor
Tricor helps reduce triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood, while high levels of these kinds of fat in the blood are associated with increased risk of clogged arteries (atherosclerosis). It is used in the treatment of high triglyceride and high cholesterol levels and lowers elevated blood triglyceride levels by making liver produce fewer triglycerides and increasing elimination of cholesterol. Also known as Fenofibrate, Tricor is a medicine of fibrate class and is primarily used for reducing cholesterol levels in people at risk of cardiovascular disease. As with fibrates, it reduces both very low density lipoprotein levels and low-density lipoprotein, in addition to reducing triglycerides level and increasing high density lipoprotein levels.
