Zyban is an antidepressant drug, which has been found to aid in stopping of smoking. It is used to help people quit smoking by reducing cravings and other withdrawal effects. Other trade names of Zyban (Budeprion, Aplenzin and Wellbutrin) are used for curing seasonal affective disorder and major depressive disorder. Also known as Bupropion and marketed as Voxra, Wellbutrin, Prexaton, Budeprion, Aplenzin or Elontril; formerly called amfebutamone, it is an atypical antidepressant and smoking cessation aid. Zyban acts as a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist and belongs to the group of medicines known as aminoketones and is identical in structure to stimulants diethylpropion and cathinone and to phenethylamines generally. Bupropion lowers seizure threshold and is an effective antidepressant on its own, but is particularly famous as an add-on medication.
Doses of Zyban :
